Departure soon approaching

Its saturday evening and the excitement is rising.

There are only a few of us currently in sheffield at the moment with some of the guys being pre-occupied with a wedding.

The level of gear in the houses is rising and with 'Panic Sunday' (the day everyone realises they've not got at least one item they require with only minutes before the store closes) tomorrow I'm pretty certain it will be a tight squeeze in the houses come tomorrow evening.

Tom Hext has probably had the most difficult time with no panniers being able to fit his bike properly. Causing him to invest into a travellers rucksack.

I will update you more tomorrow evening.

A long journey ahead..

Dear followers,

This blog has been designed to keep you up to date with the progress of the Sheffield to Barcelona bike ride in support of the Sheffield Children's Hospital.

The riders are: Stuart Mulvaney (author), Alex Forsyth, Eddie Musson, George Jennings, James Rudolph, Simon Rudolph, Tom Arnold, Tom Hext, Phil McKenna, Thomas Bustard and Louis Casmir-Cohn.

I will try and update this blog daily, dependant on our internet access throughout the bike ride.

Currently, we are all trying to squeeze as many miles in our legs as possible and stocking up on vaseline for our, soon to be, sorry thighs. There are only 7 days till the start of the ride so it is a nervous and exciting time for us!
